Sam brings more than 20 years of leadership experience across the non-profit and public sectors. Most recently, he served as Executive Director of the Africa Centre, where he guided the organization through a period of significant growth, expanded its policy influence, and deepened relationships with key partners.
With lived experience as a newcomer, Sam understands firsthand the challenges and opportunities that shape the newcomer journey. He is deeply committed to equity, inclusion, and community-led impact. His leadership values reflect those of the Edmonton Newcomer Centre; empowerment, compassion, interconnectedness, and accountability.
