Newcomer Centre English for Everyone

Find the right program for you and your family. Newcomer Centre offers a variety of programs to help Newcomers find work, learn English and get involved in their communities. Contact us if you have any questions. 

Language Instruction for Newcomers to Canada (LINC)

Language Instruction for Newcomers to Canada (LINC) is a free language-training program for eligible adult learners designed to improve reading, writing, listening and speaking skills. You will also learn more about daily living in Canada and the workplace.

Community English for All (CEFA)

Community-based English as Another Language (EAL) classes for immigrant Albertans who are beginner or intermediate learners whose first language is not English.

Classes are offered in various locations throughout Edmonton.

English for Seniors

We offer part-time community-based English classes for mature immigrant Albertan learners (55 year and older).

Care for Newcomer Children (CNC)

The Care for Newcomer Children (CNC) program is available to students enrolled in our LINC courses. Childminding services are provided at no cost for children from 6 months to 5 years of age.

Community-based Care for Newcomer Children (CBCNC)

Learners in LINC classes anywhere in Edmonton may be eligible for childcare at no cost in a licensed daycare or day home for children aged 5 or younger under the Community-Based Care for Newcomer Children (CBCNC) program.
