During his time at Mikisew Group of Companies he has further developed and hones his skills in accounting, client relations, banking, taxation, valuation, risk management, reporting, budgeting, and forecasting, corporate strategic planning, board governance, financial advisor, business governance, and integration.
Bilal has earned his Bachelor of Commerce Degree from the University of Alberta and has achieved his Certified Professional Accountant (CPA) and Chartered Accountant (CA) from The Canadian Institute of Chartered Accountants, (CICA). He has maintained a membership in good standing with the Chartered Professional Accountants of Canada (CPA) throughout his career. He has worked for one of the big four accounting firm in Edmonton (Canada) and Dallas (USA)
Currently, Bilal is the CFO of The Mikisew Group, where he is responsible for the financial health of the organization and a pivot point in all financial matters related to bids, mergers and acquisitions, and strategic investments.
He is central to the decision making of any investments or acquisitions and plays the key role in integration initiatives upon any acquisitions. Along with the traditional finance duties, he also oversees IT, legal, insurance, and general governance for the Group along with other external consultation for the Chief and Council of Mikisew First Nation. Bilal also supports the Mikisew Chief and Council with external consultation initiatives as needed.
